This guide explains how institutions can connect their financial infrastructure to the Parfin platform in order to manage digital assets, execute trades, and monitor balances from a single environment.

Overview

The platform allows organizations to integrate:

  • Bank accounts

  • Cryptocurrency exchanges

  • Digital asset custodians

Once connected, your team can manage assets, initiate transfers, execute trades, and generate reports through a unified interface or API.

Before You Begin

Make sure the following prerequisites are completed:

  1. Your organization account is fully onboarded.

  2. Admin permissions are enabled for your user profile.

  3. API credentials or institutional access details from the external provider are available.

  4. Internal approval policies (if required) are configured.

Some institutions may require compliance approval before enabling external connectivity.

Connecting a Bank Account

Steps

  1. Log in to the platform dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Integrations or Accounts.

  3. Select Add Bank Account.

  4. Choose your banking partner from the supported list.

  5. Enter the required credentials or connection details:

    • Banking API credentials or secure token

    • Account identifier

    • Authorization confirmation

  6. Submit the request.

Verification

After submission:

  • The platform validates the connection.

  • Your account balances and transaction capabilities become visible once verification is completed.

In some cases, manual approval from your bank may be required.

Connecting a Cryptocurrency Exchange

Steps

  1. Go to Integrations → Exchanges.

  2. Click Connect Exchange.

  3. Select the exchange you want to link.

  4. Provide the following:

    • API Key

    • API Secret

    • Required permissions (trading, balance access, etc.)

Best Practice

Use restricted API keys that:

  • Do not allow withdrawals unless required

  • Are limited to your organization’s IP addresses

Testing the Connection

After adding the keys:

  • The platform performs a connectivity test.

  • Exchange balances and trading pairs will appear in the dashboard.

Connecting a Custodian

Many institutions store assets with regulated custodians.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Custody Integrations.

  2. Select Add Custodian.

  3. Choose your custodian from the list.

  4. Enter the integration credentials or secure connection details.

  5. Confirm governance and authorization settings.

Once connected, custodial wallets and balances will synchronize automatically.

Managing Permissions and Governance

After integration, administrators can configure:

  • Multi-approval transaction workflows

  • User access levels

  • Transaction limits

  • Compliance monitoring

This ensures operational security while allowing multiple teams to operate on the platform.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Connection Failed

  • Verify API credentials.

  • Confirm the provider supports institutional API access.

  • Ensure IP restrictions allow platform access.

Missing Balances

  • Check API permissions include read balances.

  • Allow time for initial synchronization.

Trading Not Enabled

  • Confirm the exchange API key has trading permissions enabled.

Security Recommendations

To protect institutional assets:

  • Use IP-restricted API keys.

  • Rotate credentials periodically.

  • Enable approval workflows for transactions.

  • Limit permissions to operational requirements.
